At Richardson Law Offices, LLC, we offer our clients a reasonable, and cost effective method for an uncontested divorce. The uncontested divorce is a flat fee service in which the attorney meets with one spouse. The attorney interviews the spouse and obtains all information about the separation of the parties, such as, who will keep the house, the car, and custody of the children. Once all information is provided to the attorney, the divorce is prepared and filed. Attorney fees for uncontested divorces begin at $250.00 dollars. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all information is provided to the attorney and that their former spouse will sign the papers. If both parties can agree to end the marriage by agreement, the divorce can be quick, inexpensive, and peaceful.
Contested Divorces
Many contested divorces are long and costly. Attorney Byron M. Richardson encourages clients to try to avoid contested divorces, however, if a contested divorce is the only option then Mr. Richardson strives to provide the very best in legal services to his divorce clients. A contested divorce is a lawsuit that is heard by a Circuit Judge. Once filed, you will have your day in court to have a judge hear why you should have the divorce end as you wish, and not as your spouse desires. The judge will then apply the law to divide the marital assets, assign custody of children, and visitation of children.
Contested divorce is a stressful and expensive process for all parties involved. You may or may not have the divorce end as you wished. Even so, Byron M. Richardson works hard to put forth his best effort to obtain the best possible result for all of his clients. A minimum retainer is required for contested divorces. Call for more information today.
