Freedom is the greatest gift we are given by our creator, and the United States constitution.  However, your gift of freedom will be taken from you if you break the law in Alabama.  Having an experienced attorney on your side is the only defense you have against the will of the State of Alabama.  You should always hire an attorney to defend you against the State.  Never go through an Alabama criminal trial on your own!

Aside from taking a case to trial, many options exist for criminal defendants under the law.  Even without going to trial, an experienced attorney could negotiate a more favorable result in the case.  It is a fact that if you try to go through the case without an attorney, you don’t have as much of an opportunity to gain a favorable result.

Byron M. Richardson has helped past clients avoid jail time and has years of experience in negotiating with prosecuting attorneys.  Byron M. DUI & Driving Under The Influence:
Drunk Driving :
Drunk driving is the act of operating and/or driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs to the degree that mental and motor skills are impaired. It is illegal in all jurisdictions within the U.S. The specific criminal offense is usually called driving under the influence [of alcohol and/or other drugs] (DUI), and in some states driving while intoxicated (DWI), operating while impaired (OWI), or operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI). Such laws may also apply to boating or piloting aircraft.

Driving Drunk Statistics :
According to the statistics, an increase in handed-out citations could have led to a decrease in motor vehicle accidents during the 2006-2007 fiscal year. While citations went down (930 to 773) from year one to year two, the numbers ballooned to 1,547 during year three.
