LEGAL TIPS

Alabama DUI Statistics :
In 2006, more people died on Alabama roads than during any other year in over three decades. Not all of those fatalities were caused by drunk drivers, but the state must get the worst drivers off the road first and then go after others whose presence constitutes a threat to public safety.

Legal Term "COMPUTER CRIME" Print E-mail
Computer crime, e-crime, hi-tech crime, or electronic crime is committed when a computer is the target of a crime, or the means adopted to commit a crime. Most of these are not new except for the tools used. Criminals simply devise different ways to undertake well-known crimes such as fraud, theft, blackmail, forgery, and embezzlement via the Internet.

DUI & Driving Under The Influence:
DUI Definition :
Driving under the influence of alcohol, drunk driving, drinking and driving (North American English), or drink-driving (British/Irish and Australian/New Zealand English), is the act of operating a motor vehicle (and sometimes a bicycle or similar human-powered vehicle) after having consumed alcohol (ethanol) or other drugs, to the degree that mental and motor skills are impaired. It is a crime in most countries around the world.

DUI - DWI - ODWI? :
Unlike DUI, DWI, or OWUI cases that involve alcohol, there is generally no per se or legal limit that is employed for persons accused of driving under the influence of prescription medication or illicit drugs (although this is not the case in Ohio[citation needed]). Instead, the key inquiry focuses on whether the driver's faculties were impaired by the substance that was consumed. The detection and successful prosecution of drivers impaired by prescription medication or illegal drugs can therefore be difficult.

DUI Attorney General :
Attorney General Troy King said he had considered appealing the ruling to the state Supreme Court but that the appellate court's findings made an appeal unlikely to succeed. Instead, King will ask the Legislature next year to change the law.
