Federal DUI Regulations :
Federal Air Regulation 91.17 (14 CFR 91.17) prohibits pilots from flying aircraft with an alcohol level of 0.04% or more, and/or within eight hours of consuming alcohol, and/or while under the impairing influence of any drug.[3] The same prohibition applies to any other crewmembers on duty aboard the aircraft (flight attendants, etc.). Some airlines impose additional restrictions, and many pilots also impose stricter standards upon themselves. Commercial pilots found to be in violation of regulations are typically fired or resign voluntarily, and they may lose their pilot certificates and/or be subject to criminal prosecution under Federal or State laws, effectively ending their careers.

Every day an Alabama driver is seriously injured in an auto accident due to another driver's mistake. Unfortunately, the damage of an auto accident is not just the physical pain or expense of medical care for those injured in the accident.

Many times an auto accident devastates the life of the injured, as well as the lives of the family as well. Without an attorney who knows the law, these victims do not receive the compensation they legally deserve.

DUI & Driving Under The Influence:
DUI History :
Historically, guilt was established by observed driving symptoms, such as weaving; administering field sobriety tests, such as a walking a straight line heel-to-toe or standing on one leg for 30 seconds; and the arresting officer's subjective opinion of impairment. Starting with the introduction in Norway in 1936 of the world’s first per se law which made it an offense to drive with more than a specified amount of alcohol in the body, objective chemical tests have gradually supplemented the earlier purely judgmental ones. Limits for chemical tests are specific for blood alcohol concentration or concentration of alcohol in breath.

Alabama DUI Lawyer :
Then comes the case of a man who had seven drunken-driving convictions within 15 years, but only three within a five-year period. He was sentenced for committing a felony. He appealed. And the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals reluctantly ruled that his sentence should be reduced.

Birmingham DUI Laws :
Originally, the law said convictions had to take place within a five-year period. Later, this five-year criteria was amended out in some places but remained in others.
